An erection is the stiffening and rising of the penis, which occurs during sexual arousal, though it can also happen in non-sexual situations.

Sexual arousal in females stimulates the lining of the vagina to produce mucus. The reason why mucus produced is to make it easy for the erect penis to enter. In the acts of copulation, the male inserts his penis into the female vagina.

Copulation is the act of sexual intercourse or mating, where a male typically inserts his penis into a female's vagina for the purpose of sexual pleasure or reproduction.

What is fertilization?

If there is an ovum - egg in the oviduct, one of the sperm may bump into the egg and stick to its surface. Then the sperm enters the cytoplasm of the egg and the male nucleus of sperm fuse or union with the female nucleus. This is what we call Fertilization.

The egg may survive for about 24 hours and the sperm might be able to fertile an ovum about 2 or 3 days.
